Some Important Reminders For Fall

Raking Leaves

Autumn leaves are fun to jump and play in ...

But not so fun when you’re a South Shore Heating & Cooling technician and have to trudge through them to make a service call!

Please clear a path to your front door, and provide easy access to your driveway and/or sidewalk by raking and shoveling leaves and debris so that our technicians can complete their work quickly, safely, and easily! For the same reason, when snow blankets the ground, please shovel a path and melt any ice.

It’s also important to allow our technicians access to your indoor and outdoor home comfort systems so that our technicians can complete their work promptly and without issue.

In your attic, basement or utility room ...

  • Remove any cartons, old furniture, hanging laundry, or anything that might block the path to your boiler, furnace, or water heater.

  • Although our technicians carry flashlights, please provide adequate light for them to view your heating equipment.

Outside your home ...

  • Cut back plants, bushes, weeds, and tree branches to leave at least a 2-foot clearance around any outdoor equipment.

  • Keep toys, hoses, trash containers, and outdoor furniture away from outdoor units.

  • Make sure our technicians have adequate space to park their trucks.

Both inside and outside ...

  • Please keep young children and pets away from the work zone – including access to tanks, fill pipes, flues, gas meters, flue pipes, and outdoor units.

Giving us access to your indoor and outdoor comfort equipment ensures faster equipment repairs, prevents accidental property damage, protects your loved ones, and optimizes your heating system’s overall efficiency.
